The Library offers students access to over 25,000 books, 2,500 DVD’s, 150 video games, 120 magazines and all the supplies an art student could want. We also provide access to a wide range of online subscriptions. Learn more about searching the Library.

Policies

If materials are not returned after six weeks, replacement charges and a hold are sent to the Accounting Department.

Binding

The Library provides binding services for students and faculty. All binding must be paid for with a punch card:

• Heatbound, 2 punches ($2.50)
• Hardbound, 6 punches ($7.50)
• Spiralbound, 1 punch ($1.25)
• Spiral with plastic cover, 2 punhces ($2.50)

Lamination

Lamination services are available in the Library in a number of formats. All lamination must be paid for with a punch card:

• 8 1/2 x 11, 1 punch ($1.25)
• 11 x 17, 2 punches ($2.50)
• up to 38″ wide (any length), 2 punches ($2.50)/ft.

Mission

The Library is committed to enhancing the teaching and learning environment of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in the pursuit and teaching of programs designed to prepare students for careers in the creative arts. It manifests this commitment by assembling information and material collections in print, digital, video, audio, photographic and other unique formats to serve the art and design and general academic needs of students, faculty, and staff. The Library is devoted to creating and maintaining and environment that inspires and supports creativity and provides professional, user-friendly service at all times.
